Comet Hale Bopp, the Moon and the Pleiades over Sedona,
Arizona
The
comet Hale Bopp's closest approach to Earth was 122,000,000
miles, the moon lies about 250,000 miles away. By
contrast, the stars in the Pleiades are 2,492,920,800,000,000
miles away and are also known as the Seven Sisters
and Messier Object 45. They are considered young,
blue-hot stars, forming together around 100 million
years ago, making them 1/50th the age of our sun.
This photo was taken just outside of Oak Creek Canyon,
Sedona, Arizona.
