Baroque
Church in Austria
This
is a 12th-century Gothic church with a later baroque
influence. It was founded by archbishop Konrad I from
Salzburg in 1136. It became a Lombard Romanesque church
in the late 12th Century, then it was altered in a
Late Gothic style in 1512-20. It is the largest romantic
Basilica in upper Bavaria. Located on the northeast
side of Bad Reichenhall, Germany it sits under Karkopf
peak in the Bavarian Alps. A fire in 1834 destroyed
much of the town, but St. Zeno survived.
